Terms & Conditions

Check-in & collection

Check-in and collection of pets is by appointment only. Please telephone or email to arrange a mutually convenient time prior to checking your pet(s) in for boarding with us.

Refusals

We reserve the right to turn away any guests which we believe are not in good health as they are best kept at home if recovering from illness. This is also to protect our other guests from any illness which could be contagious.

Vaccinations

We recommend rabbits are vaccinated against VHD1, VHD2 and Myxomatosis. At present there are no vaccinations required for guinea pigs or other small animals. We will not board an animal without these injections due to the increased risk of death or disease exposure to other boarders. Proof must be provided and the vaccinations must have been done at least 2 weeks prior to arrival.

Please bring your vaccination certificate ON ARRIVAL

.

Illness

In the unlikely event that your pet should show any signs of illness we will contact you on your emergency contact number to discuss the situation and transport them to our vet for treatment. In an emergency we may not be able to contact you until we arrive at the vets as the animal is our priority. Any veterinary fees incurred for treatment will be payable by yourself on return/collection of your pet. . If your pet is under veterinary care and receiving treatment for non-contagious medical condition/s, we are happy to assist in your pet’s medical programme by administering prescribed drugs and/or injections on your behalf free of charge. Please ensure your pet has enough medication for the duration of his or her stay.

The health and wellbeing of our guests is extremely important to us, and for the care, concern and health of animals boarding at our establishment, we reserve the right at all times to refuse for boarding any animal exhibiting signs of injury and/or ill health NOT in receipt of veterinary treatment. We also reserve the right not to accept animals with contagious diseases for example pasturella and vent disease in rabbits or chronic mange in guinea pigs, which may seriously compromise the health of other boarders.

Non-collection of pet

Should you be unable to collect your pet at the time and date agreed when booking, please let us know as soon as possible and re-arrange a new collection date. Should you neglect to inform us that you will be unable to collect your pet on the agreed day and we are unable to contact you, after 14 days we reserve the right to re-home your pet. We will assume you have abandoned your pet and will commence legal proceedings to recover continuing boarding costs and re-homing costs.

Food

Please ensure you supply us with your pet’s daily dry mix upon arrival, sufficient for your rabbit or guinea pig’s stay. Please put food in a named plastic container to prevent attracting vermin. We will provide your pet with top quality hay, vegetables and occasional fresh fruit during their stay as well as fresh water. You may bring any favourite treats or toys that will make your pet feel more at home. Also, any supplements you like them to have or medication will be accepted.

Shared Hutches

Rabbits and /or guinea pigs sharing a hutch, which begin displaying signs of aggression and/or sexual harassment toward each other, may be separated at our discretion for the safety, health and well being of the animals. The owner of any pets, which have to be separated, will incur the extra costs of boarding.

Un-neutered Pets

We do not board pregnant animals. Any doe or sow boarding with us, who gives birth to a litter while in our care, will remain with the litter under our supervision, until the kits or piglets are weaned for the security of the mother and the survival of the litter. The owner will incur the extra costs of boarding.

Cancellations

All cancellations within 14 days of arrival are charged at 50% of the boarding fee.

Long term boarding

Long term residents at the facility must have fees paid a week in advance. Fees not paid on time are subject to late payment charge of £3.00 per day of overdue payment.

Death

Your pet’s health, safety and welfare are of paramount importance to us, in the unlikely event of a death occurring, we will contact you if possible to make suitable arrangements. If we are unsuccessful in contacting you, we will hold your pet in cold storage until you let us know your wishes. Any costs incurred will be payable on return.

Please note all pets boarding at The Natural Pet Company are left completely at the owners risk and  The Natural Pet Company accept no responsibility whatsoever should your pet become ill or a death occur.

Licensing of boarding establishments

At present there are no licensing requirements for the boarding of rabbits and small animals, therefore it is your responsibility to establish for yourself that a boarding facility is suitable for your pet prior to booking them in for their holiday.
